an apartment in ramlet el bayda arranged so its boundaries soften, one living space giving way to the next without hard division. at its centre stands a carved wooden monolith, sculpted and standing free, the single charged object in an otherwise quiet plan, where an organic material meets a spare, modern geometry. the surfaces are clean and continuous, the detailing kept low so the eye is never caught on what it does not need to see. it reads less as a sequence of rooms than as one volume moving through itself, and the monolith holds the centre of that movement. what remains has been pared to the essential, and given room to be felt.
